PROGRAMS

Newberry Soil and Water Conservation District hosts a variety of events, classes, workshops, camps, and educational sessions to promote, educate and inform landowners, and assist in the implementation of conservation practices.

PEOPLE

Newberry Soil and Water Conservation District board consists of five Commissioners, which 3 are elected in the South Carolina general elections and two Commissioners appointed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and a District Coordinator.

PARTNERS

Newberry Soil and Water Conservation District has a number of partnerships with different organizations to promote conservation practices, these include government agencies, public committees, and private landowners.

ABOUT US

Newberry Soil and Water Conservation District is a subdivision of the state of SC, responsible to the citizens of Newberry County in matters involving resource conservation. It promotes the wise and responsible use of natural resources. The district develops and implements programs to protect and conserve soil, water, farmland, woodland, wildlife, energy, riparian and wetland resources.

The district promotes conservation practices through long-range planning, distributing information to the public, hosting workshops and seminars on a variety of topics, working with legislators to work for the best interest of landowners, hosting youth education events at schools and camps, working with the media and public relations to promote understanding of conservation practices and resources.
